They stop the Locos at home

In the penultimate home game of the 2024 USL Championship season, El Paso Locomotive FC fell 2-0 to Orange County SC at Southwest University Park on Wednesday night. It was the first loss in the last six games they played at home.

“It’s a tough night for us and we didn’t play at the level we used to,” Lokomotiv coach Wilmer Cabrera said. “We’ve got to make sure we’re back and we’ve got to be solid again, make sure we don’t concede goals and try to close the last game of the season here at home with a good result.”

El Paso was trailing 1-0 after Orange County opened the scoring on a transition in the 16th minute and then doubled the lead in the 69th minute on a counterattack.

Despite the Locos’ efforts, Orange County’s defense held strong to limit El Pasoans’ scoring opportunities.

Lokomotiv will now regroup and prepare to host Sacramento Republic FC this Saturday, hoping to end the year at home on a high note.
