“The water is coming.” Evacuation and flooded hospital in Nysa

News

The mayor of Nysa (Opole Voivodeship) has called on residents to self-evacuate. “Dear residents. Unfortunately, we are unable to determine the strength and direction of the flood that threatens us,” Kordian Kolbiarz admitted in a Facebook post. Local media report that the city is “cut off from the world.” Water floods subsequent streets as a result of rising water levels in Nysa Kłodzka.

The mayor of Nysa explained in a message to residents that “it is generally safe to cross the river.”

He warned that an alarm siren would sound in the city – “Water is coming!”.

Opole police officers also report that the situation in Nysa is still not stable, and that they published on X a recording of a uniformed police officer wandering through the city streets in the middle of the water.
