A 35-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday morning (18), after being caught attacking a puppy with a slipper, in Estrada Parque Taguatinga, in the Federal District. According to the attacker, the act was an attempt to “educate” the animal.

Witnesses recorded the moment the attack took place in broad daylight. In the scene, the attacker is seen immobilizing the dog and hitting it with his sandal. After the incident, animal protection officers arrived at the scene and called the 17th Military Police Battalion. The boy tried to justify his actions by claiming that the puppy had bitten him. However, authorities arrested him on charges of abuse.
When rescued, the dog showed signs of malnutrition and was tied with a telephone cord around its neck. At the police station, the man who eventually confessed to the attack, revealed that he had only had the puppies for a week, after receiving them.
