Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, died aged 31 this Wednesday (16.10.)after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The emergency team arrived at the scene within seven minutes, but the musician was already lifeless, according to Doctor Alberto Crescenti, director of SAME, the local emergency service.
Crescenti said Payne suffered fatal injuries, including a fracture at the base of his skull, making any attempt at resuscitation impossible. “If it’s a free fall and there’s virtually nothing to cushion it, it’s a fatal fall.” It only took the paramedics seven minutes to arrive at the scene, but they were unable to do anything to save him,” he told Argentine press.
The circumstances surrounding the fall are still being clarified, and an autopsy should provide more information about what happened.
