It has been known for some time that Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov has been invited to the meeting at NATO headquarters. The fact that Zelensky is also coming was added to the program at the end, after it became clear that he will also attend the EU summit of government leaders on Thursday, in the European Quarter of Brussels.
At NATO, Zelensky can, among other things, explain his plan, presented on Wednesday, about how he thinks Ukraine can win the war against Russia. Central to this so-called victory plan is the rapid invitation to join the alliance. The agenda also includes NATO’s budget and methods to improve military deterrence. The ministers will also meet on Friday.
