Father, mother and son created a network of hemp farms in three regions of Ukraine

Law enforcement officers arrested members of a criminal group that organized drug business in the territory of three provinces.

Details: Six people, the family and their accomplices, have been suspected of organizing the cultivation of hemp and the subsequent sale of cannabis in Ukraine.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers discovered two active “drug farms” and one that the perpetrators planned to open. The production capacity was approximately 1 kg of cannabis per day. The finished “products” were sold in large batches to verified customers.

According to the investigation, this “business” was organized by a family – father, mother and son – with the participation of three accomplices. It operated in the Kyiv, Chernivtsi and Cherkasy regions.

During the authorized searches, 25 kilograms of cannabis, more than 1,000 hemp plants, fertilizers, equipment, tools and means for growing and drying hemp were discovered and seized. In addition, law enforcement officers seized four briquettes containing a powdery substance – cocaine, with a total weight of about 4 kilograms.

 

According to preliminary estimates, the value of the seized “goods” is about 40 million UAH.

In addition, five premium cars used by the perpetrators in criminal activities were seized, with a total value of approximately $300,000.

The court has now decided on preventive measures for the suspects in the form of detention and house arrest.

 

Vehicles belonging to the suspects and equipment for the production of narcotic substances were seized.
