Detran RJ promotes educational action at a school in Rio’s West Zone

Students of the Centro Educacional Cefal school, in Realengo, West Zone of Rio, had a different and fun morning this Thursday, September 19, in the framework of National Traffic Week. Agents of the Traffic Education Coordination of Detran.RJ explained to the students the rules and behavior of traffic on the streets and highways. Children aged between two and ten years, from four classes, participated in the educational activity.

The students watched videos and lectures with Detran.RJ educators, in addition to participating in musical activities led by Natinho Batera, conductor of Coral Canta Detran.RJ. Information on how to drive carefully, respecting traffic signs and regulations was conveyed to the children in an interactive way, through music and games.

For the Assistant Coordinator of Traffic Education of Detran.RJ, Enza Taddei Hernandez, the presentation of concepts about traffic regulations to children is very important. “When we show the importance of respecting signs, crossings and all regulations, we make children become multipliers of traffic education with their families. This is a way of educating to preserve life,” he said.

Cefal’s General Coordinator, Monique Rocha, explained that traffic education, especially during the national week of discussion of the subject, has been a routine in schools for years. According to her, the participation of the Detran.RJ Traffic Education Coordination enhances this work.

“Here we always emphasize to students the importance of obeying traffic rules. We work in a fun way with children, so they can convey this concept to their parents. The participation of the Detran team adds to the work we are developing,” he said.

In the National Traffic Week 2024 with the theme “Traffic peace starts with you”, Detran.RJ has scheduled several activities, such as lectures in companies, schools and traffic education actions, on the Rio-Niterói Bridge and other points in the city. The entire program is planned to mobilize the public towards safer traffic.

This Friday, it is the turn of the Escola Municipal Santos Dumont, in Marechal Hermes, North Zone of Rio, to host the activity “Playing and learning with traffic”, with lectures and an exhibition of cartoons with educational content. At 5 p.m., the lecture “Responsible Traffic – Demystifying the Practical Test” will be given at the Mafra Driver Training Center, in Campo Grande, in the West Zone of Rio.
