Wody Polskie employees are receiving criminal threats related to the flood. As the head of Polish Waters, Joanna Kopczyńska, revealed, these are both phone calls and online attacks.
During the crisis team meeting on Thursday evening in Wrocław, Joanna Kopczyńska said, among others: about this Wody Polskie employees – especially Nysa river basin management employees – are targeted by attacks, among others, on the Internet. PGiven that criminal threats are being made against them, I reported the matter to the relevant services during the day. The employees are now protected. – she said.
We are currently receiving many threatening calls and would like to inform all those who make these types of threats to our employees that all these calls are recorded, we are aware of the calls and we report them to the appropriate services. These are threats punishable under Article 190 of the Criminal Code and are punishable by up to 3 years in prison. – said the head of Polish Waters.
The Head of Polish Waters assured that His crew demonstrated “incredible responsibility for the well-being of the inhabitants of Nysa.” She also ensured that employees had appropriate qualifications and experience.

The information released on the Internet was denied on the Wód Polskie website on the alleged “dismissal of employees of Wody Polskie which manages the Nysa reservoir” and “intentional flooding of Nysa”.
“Such entries constitute an attack on our employees who, in the face of flooding, have been reliably carrying out their duties for many days to ensure the safety of residents. Spreading false information serves to spread panic and undermines citizens’ trust in state institutions and services, which poses a threat to citizens’ security in a crisis situation,” the statement emphasized.
