A teacher was found hanged on Tuesday, October 22, at the school where she taught in Barbier, a village in the Drôme, the Valence prosecutor said on Wednesday. This 40-year-old woman was found by the gendarmerie the day before in the “mid-afternoon”, Valence prosecutor Laurent de Caigny said, confirming information from Dauphine Liberet.
The letter “does not state anything related to the school”
“Everything points” to suicide, Laurent de Kenny said, citing “a written note that she left and the circumstances in which she was found.”
“At the moment there is no word on why she did this act in this place,” he added, adding that in her letter the teacher “does not indicate anything related to the school.” An investigation has been launched to establish the causes of his death, adds the prosecutor’s office, “in which all hypotheses will be examined, including working conditions and the working atmosphere”.
