This Tuesday afternoon (15), the president of the Salvador Turismo Company (Saltur), Isaac Eddingtonwas with the general superintendent of Liga Álvaro Bahia, the organization that supports Martagão Gesteira, Dr. Carlos Emmanuel Meloto deliver a monetary donation collected through registrations for the Salvador Marathon.
The promotion, unprecedented in the competition, enabled the athletes to donate 10% of their registration fee to the philanthropic institution. With this gesture of solidarity, R$ 18,000 was collected in 665 registrations that chose to support the solidarity campaign.
“Embracing this institution that is critical to our city and the entire state was very special. A 100% free hospital, a reference in pediatric care in Brazil that remains thanks to donations from Bahians and partnerships like the one made with Marathon. It is an honor to raise the flag for this incredible and important institution.”emphasizes Eddington.
