Luzia AI data protection warning – El Financiero

In an increasingly sophisticated digital environment, artificial intelligence (AI) applications are gaining ground in the daily lives of consumers in Monterrey and the rest of Mexico. However, as these technologies grow, so does the risk of users’ personal data being used without their knowledge.

The company Luzia, a developer of a personal assistant with artificial intelligence, warns of these risks in a recent statement.

According to a study conducted by the company, 48 percent of users, out of a total of 50 million subscribers worldwide, would accept their personal data being used to train the AI of their favorite apps without fully understanding the impact this could have on your privacy and security.

Alvaro Higuez, founder of Luzia, noted that it is extremely important that consumers in the region understand the risks.

“We need to raise awareness among users so that we don’t automatically open up their personal data to AI,” Higges said.

October’s Cyber Security Awareness Month is a good reminder for users in Monterrey and Mexico to protect themselves from possible cyber attacks and bad practices in managing their information.
