Japan’s core inflation slows in September on fuel subsidies By Reuters

TOKYO, Oct 18 (Reuters) – Core consumer prices in Japan rose 2.4 percent in September from a year earlier, government data showed on Friday.

The core consumer price index, which includes petroleum products but excludes fresh food prices, compared with economists’ average forecast for an annual increase of 2.3 percent.

Stripping out the effects of fresh food and energy, consumer prices rose 2.1% in September from a year earlier.
