According to the German Insurance Association (GdV), the number of car thefts in Germany increased by almost 20 percent last year, and the risk is highest in Berlin. The GdV said that 14,585 comprehensively insured vehicles were stolen nationwide. “The total economic damage caused by car theft has increased to more than 310 million euros.”
