Ciudad Juarez.- Elements of the Municipal Secretariat for Public Security (OSOS) maintained surveillance outside Plantel 6 Secondary School, located on Faraday Street, at the request of the school management from the morning shift, following an incident with a student.

Adrián Sánchez Contreras, a spokesman for the police corporation, said that this Friday morning the principals sanctioned a student who was forced to leave the campus as a disciplinary measure.

However, he said, the student posted photos on his social media displaying alleged firearms and threatened to return to campus, which alerted education authorities who requested the presence of the SSPM.

Sanchez Contreras said the alleged weapons were not real, but rather paintball guns, so any action against faculty, administrative staff or students was ruled out.

In response to student safety, the corporation maintains a police presence during both shifts, it noted.

El Diario requested the version of events from Cobach’s coordination in the North Zone, without receiving a response to the request for information.

On campus, students said they were unaware of the incident and that it was mentioned by their teachers during their classes.
