An Argentinian tourist died this Wednesday (16) in Bombinhas. The 74-year-old man was pulled out of the water by swimmers who called for help. Firefighters found the victim in the sixth degree of drowning, the most serious on the scale of care. Samu and Archangel-01 are also mobilized in the rescue.

The drowning happened shortly after 1pm at Praia da Lagoinha, where there are no lifeguards. The tourist was there snorkeling. Because the wife said her husband had a history of heart disease, firefighters believe he had a heart problem and that’s why he drowned.

He was already unconscious when he was pulled from the sea. Crews spent 40 minutes trying to revive the elderly man, including using an automatic chest compressor. The body was taken to Bombinhas UPA until the arrival of the scientific police.
