Two federal judges who distinguished themselves with their rulings against 4T have resigned, not finding it viable to continue their careers under the rules of judicial reform.
The magistrate Juan Pablo Gómez Fierro and Judge Rodrigo de la Peza resigned.

Both were judges specializing in telecommunications and economic competition in the early years of the last six-year term, when they pointed out the unconstitutionality of several reforms attempted by the government, among them those in the electricity industry, hydrocarbons to remove asymmetric measures for Pemexand National Register of Mobile Users (PANAUT).
The suspensions with general effect given by the two judges to stop these reforms even led Morena to prohibit the issuance of measures of this type, first with a reform of the Amparo law, and now in the constitution, as part of the judicial reform.
In his resignation letter, after a 22-year career, Gomez Fierro explained that he believed that the reform, which subjects all judicial positions in the country to popular election, “is contrary to the values of the republic and separation of powers“.
