Two ships were damaged after a landslide hit the coast of the municipality of Boa Vista do Ramos, in the interior of Amazonas, this Wednesday (16).

According to Civil Defense, two small vessels were damaged by the phenomenon, there are no reports of casualties. The coast is closed and requests have been made for vessels to be removed from the area.

The city council emphasized in a note that the municipal decree published in May already prohibits the mooring of any ship on the coast of Boa Vista do Ramos.

“The measure was taken due to the lack of sufficient stability of the structure to withstand major efforts and is at the request of the company carrying out the work, as the time to ‘harden’ the wall after construction is a minimum of one year. In case of non-compliance, violators will be notified, and in case of repeated violations, they may be fined,” the message says.
