The German side expected us to provide the documentation for the European arrest warrant intended for the German side. A few hours later, these documents were sent.

On Friday morning, a hearing was held in a German court. Temporary arrest was imposed on Łukasz Ż. He was questioned and did not agree to simplified extradition to Poland.

The arrest took place on the premises of a hospital in Lübeck. As prosecutor Skiba said, unofficial information from a reliable source shows that the suspect suffered injuries resulting from a car accident.

ŁukaszŻ. he was placed in German custody. The prosecutor noted that it is difficult to say when the suspect will be handed over to the Polish side. I think it’s a matter of, if not days, at least several weeks. We’ll be able to say more when we have information about the suspect’s health condition. – said the prosecutor.

Prosecutor Skiba added that investigators are working constantly and intensively to arrest all the people involved in this case. As he added, In the last two days, two men were arrested in Warsaw. There are other people in our sights, under our gaze, who will be successively brought to justice. – Skiba announced.

He added that the most recent arrests were two men who were in the company of Łukasz Ż before the accident, and the remaining three suspects, who were arrested immediately after the incident. They drank alcohol together in one of Warsaw’s restaurants. They then drove two cars – a Volkswagen and a Cupra – towards Prague from Warsaw.

The first of those arrested was Kamil K. He was caught yesterday, today he was accused of not providing assistance to those injured in an accident, as well as of helping the suspect Łukasz Ż in hiding, making it difficult to establish his identity and, above all, facilitating his escape.

Kamil K. runs a car rental company. As reported by prosecutor Skiba, After the accident, he not only failed to provide assistance to the victims, but also removed Łukasz Ż from the scene. These men headed in the agreed direction to ul. Romaszewski in Warsaw, where they planned an escape for several hours. – described the prosecutor.

Kamil K. has no previous convictions. The court is now considering a request for temporary detention.

The second of the men arrested is Aleksander G. He also drank with the detainees in the same restaurant and after the accident with Łukasz Ż. and Kamil K. he was in the apartment on ul. Romaszewski. The Public Prosecutor’s Office announces that these are not the last arrests and most likely will not be the last charges.

Investigators are also checking whether the men driving the Volkswagen and Cupra were under the influence of alcohol. We have detailed records of the restaurant. We know who drank how many glasses of vodka, what brand of vodka it was, how large the glasses were. – said Skiba.

He added that the Public Prosecutor’s Office suspects that the pilots participated in races. This topic will be verified at a later stage of the investigation.

Prosecutor Skiba noted that Łukasz Ż. despite his young age, he has a lot of experience in criminal matters. We are talking about a very rich archive here – he pointed out. The first incident – from 2019 – involved driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
