On 2 September 2024, a prosecutor from the West Pomeranian Branch of the Organized Crime and Corruption Department of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin charged Zbigniew B. with committing a crime (…) relating to acting to the detriment of the Polish Football Association – said prosecutor Przemysław Nowak, spokesman for the National Prosecutor’s Office, in an interview with Wirtualna Polska.

The prosecutor charged the suspect with causing significant material damage to the Polish Football Association in the period from November 2014 to August 2021, as president of the Polish Football Association, acting jointly and in consultation with other persons, in excess of PLN 1 million in connection with the sponsorship agreement. – we read in “wp.pl”.

Boniek did not admit to having committed the act of which he was accused and refused to give an explanation. According to “Wirtualna Polska”, the former president of the Polish Football Federation could face up to 10 years in prison.
