Months after the release of Kartik Aaryan’s critically acclaimed film Master of ChanduOlympian Manu Bhaker praised both the actor and the film. Manu shared a picture of himself on his Instagram stories where he can be seen watching a movie at home. In the caption, Manu wrote, “Olympics are finally over and I saw Chandu’s champion as soon as I got home and this film turned out to be much closer than I thought. Preparation, struggles, failures but never giving up… Hats off to Kartik Aaryan for taking the trouble of this role as I myself athlete, I know it’s not easy… Especially the preparation period… You deserve a medal for this!!” FYI, Manu Bhaker won two bronze medals in the 2024 Olympics in women’s 10m air pistol and 10m mixed air pistol team event.
Re-sharing the story in his Instagram post, Kartik wrote, “Wow! Thank you. I will always cherish these moments when a true champion like you praises our labor of love! Chandu Champion love and respect for doing what every Indian is proud of.”
Celebrities like Kapil Dev, Shabana Azmi, Shatrughan Sinha and others previously praised Kartik Aaryan’s performance in the film. Speaking to Zoom, Shatrughan Sinha said, “What a sincere hardworking boy! Kartik deserves all the success he gets. He is so dedicated and passionate in Chandu Champion. Ek junoon hai uss bachche mein. [There’s a passion in that child.] Please convey my congratulations to him.” Shatrughan Sinha also mentioned that Kartik should get a National Award for his performance. He added, “He should get all the awards for this, including the National Award.”
Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Chandu Champion also stars Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Shreyas Talpade, Sonali Kulkarni and Bhuvan Arora. Released on June 14, the film was the first collaboration between director Kabir Khan and Kartik Aaryan. Kartik Aaryan will next be seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 opposite Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan. The Anees Bazmee film will release on November 1.
