Adamczyk, who was appointed president of Telewizja Polska by the National Media Council over Christmas (this change was not entered in the National Court Register), expressed his joy that current TVP journalists will once again be able to host viewers’ homes.
He also announced the first behind-the-scenes material on the launch of the new channel, prepared by Rafał Jarząbek, who in recent years has worked at the tvp.info portal, managed by Samuel Pereira. Sam Pereira, who managed the TVP Info channel during his last year at Telewizja Polska, has also joined the new channel.
Several former TVP faces off in the new “Wiadomości”
The next material was prepared by Żaklina Skowrońska (before the changes in TVP she was an associate of TVP Info). It concerned the arrest in London of Michał Kuczmierowski, former chairman of the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves. The programme also included material by Stanisław Pyrzanowski (formerly TVP Info). It was devoted to the accusations against a police officer who did not allow Civic Coalition MPs to enter the area near the border with Belarus.
Bartosz Łyżwiński (formerly “Wiadomości” TVP1) prepared material on the rejection of the Law and Justice election report. After the “hang-up”, Adamczyk connected with Łyżwiński, who was standing in front of the Sejm building. The reporter appeared poorly lit.
The material on the case of the arrested priest Michał Olszewski was prepared by Anna Pawelec (formerly “Wiadomości”). The topic of the closure of maternity hospitals was discussed by Małgorzata Gałka (formerly “Wiadomości”). She prepared the material and the live broadcast. Not in front of the hospital, but at the National Stadium. The topic of the US presidential campaign was discussed by Konrad Hryszkiewicz, who has been associated with the station wPolsce.pl (it was replaced by wPolsce24) for more than two years. Later, Adamczyk showed a graph entitled “Balance of German Crimes” from the Second World War. Calculations were given regarding the number of victims and material losses.
Afterwards, the behind-the-scenes of the creation of the new station was briefly shown again and a conversation with Jarosław Kaczyński, the first guest of “Wiadomości”, began. After a short conversation, Adamczyk invited us to watch the weather forecast, after which we were able to watch his interview with the PiS chairman again. In addition to Adamczyk, “Wiadomości” will be hosted by Marta Kielczyk, who also previously worked at Plac Powstańców.
Former Polish television journalists can be seen not only in the “Wiadomości” programme, but also in other sections of the station. In the afternoon, news and conversations with journalists are hosted by Marta Kosik (ex-TVP Info) and Daniel Stanisławski (until December last year, presenter and reporter for TVP Info, previously a researcher for “Fakty” TVN). Marcin Tulicki, previously, among others, became deputy head of wPolska24 and head of “Wiadomości”. deputy head of the Television Information Agency and reporter for this programme on TVP. Marta Piasecka (until December last year, presenter of “Teleexpress”, previously associated with TVP Info and TV Republika) will also be available on the channel. The weather forecast is provided by Mateusz Gadomski (ex-TVP3). The hosts of “Poranka” wPolsce24 will be Magdalena Ogórek and Rafał Porzeziński, as well as Małgorzata Opczowska and Jacek Łęski. Most of them are also former faces of TVP.
Karnowski: Let’s fix all these deficiencies
Although the colors of the beams and business cards of “Wiadomości” wPolsce24 resemble those used in “Wiadomości” TVP, the new program is far from the technical and production level of Telewizja Polska. In a conversation with President Kaczyński, the executor rarely decided on an additional or “two-way” plan. Perhaps because the wPolce24 studio seems rather cramped. In the case of some materials, the sender uses still photos. Apparently, the wPolce.pl archive is not very rich. Terrestrial broadcasts are in standard definition. This will change only when the Office for Electronic Communications, the National Broadcasting Council and the broadcasters agree to change the standard of the eighth multiplex to DVB-T2/HEVC.
There were many technical problems during the premiere on Poland24, including: related to sound. During one of the programs hosted by Stanisławski, viewers could hear a voice coming from the control room.
– We will be ourselves. We will be like the portal wPolityce.pl, weekly Sieci, we will be like those who create this media environment and those who joined it.. I think that such a voice is needed in Poland. This is the voice that will defend Polish independence, Polish affairs, Polish values. It will also listen, speak, present arguments and communicate with the public. We can see from the first reactions that they are very positive. Thank you for all these votes of support. They are important to us. This is a difficult time, the time to start. We promise that we will develop. We will improve all these shortcomings step by step and strive to become an important voice in the television market. – said Jacek Karnowski, editor-in-chief of wPolsce24.
He called Adamczyk the last legal president of TVP and praised former journalists at the public broadcaster. – These are truly remarkable journalistic personalities. There are also programs like Bez censorship, formerly Wieczór bez cenzurości. A much-loved commentary program now at 6:30 p.m. We also have the team that creates the program Polityka for Dessert. The program vaguely comments on our reality: Krzysztof Feusette, Dorota Łosiewicz, Stanisław Janecki. I will mention just a few people, Karnowski added. Marcin Wikło and Marek Pyza, who were previously associated with the broadcaster wPolsce.pl, and during the previous PiS government with TVP, the public broadcaster, can also be seen on the broadcaster’s air.
wPolce24 can be watched on digital terrestrial television channel 52 (MUX-8). Rival Republic is in 51st place. The station is also available on, among others, Polsat Box (channel 196) and Polsat Box Go, Netia (channel 192), Orange (channel 32), Vectra (channel 825) UPC Polska (channel 339 on Mediabox set-top boxes and 121 on Kaon and Horizon set-top boxes). The channel’s broadcast is broadcast on wpolsce24.tv and on YouTube. Until the end of September, wPolsce24 will also be available for viewing on the experimental BCAST multiplex (Gdańsk, Warsaw and Wrocław).
