Malaika Arora’s father committed suicide on Wednesday morning, police said. Anil Mehta jumped from his apartment building in Mumbai’s Bandra. The incident happened around nine o’clock today. In an old interview, Malaika Arora had shared excerpts of her “tumultuous” childhood and her parents’ divorce in an interview with Grazia India. In 2022, Malaika Arora said, “I had a wonderful childhood, but it wasn’t easy. In fact, in retrospect, the word I would use to describe it is turbulent. But difficult times also teach important things. My parents’ divorce gave me the opportunity to observe my mother in a new and unique way. through the lens.
Malaika Arora during the interview had also mentioned how her parent’s divorce affected her. Malaika told Grazia in an old interview: “I learned a solid work ethic and the value of getting up every morning to do whatever it takes to become fiercely independent. Those early lessons are the cornerstones of my life and professional journey. I value my freedom and live life on my own terms. The world may be crazy around me, but these fundamental attitudes consider me good.”
Anil Mehta is survived by ex-wife Joyce Polycarp and daughters Malaika and Amrita Arora – both actresses.
Malaika, a former model, was also a VJ. He has also reviewed a couple of dance performances over the years, e.g India’s Best Dancer, Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Zara Nachke Dikha. He also criticized the shows, e.g India has talent and Supermodel of the year. Malaika Arora also runs a yoga studio, a clothing brand and a food delivery platform.
