WhatsApp introduced the Community Events feature in May and began rolling it out to group chats for beta users on Android in June. WhatsApp later began testing community announcement group events in its beta app on Android, and is now working on a community group chat event duration feature.
This revelation comes from WABetaInfowho announced that WhatsApp has started testing the group chat event duration feature in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.24.17.11.
With this feature, members of community groups will be able to create events with specific start and end times, as well as add a location and a link to a WhatsApp conversation.
This feature should be helpful in communities where you need to schedule a lot of events. There’s no word on when WhatsApp will roll it out to all users worldwide, but if you’re an Android user and can’t wait for the public rollout, you can sign up for the beta program to try it out.
