The head of government presented parliamentarians yesterday evening with information about the government’s actions during the floods. As he said, although the scale of rainfall in southern Poland and this part of Europe was greater than during the “flood of the century” in 1997, a similar disaster almost three decades ago was avoided. – Large cities and large population centers, such as Wrocław and Opole, were spared from this great flood – Tusk stressed. He added that according to preliminary estimates, the number of flooded and destroyed settlements was ten times less than in 1997.
