Nineteen neighborhoods in Rio’s North Zone and some areas City center faced water shortage this Monday (23). About This problem is caused by repairs to the large Águas do Rio network.located in Higienópolis. Several residents said they had not had water since Friday (20).
By 1 p.m., the repairs were complete. According to Águas do Rio, supply is expected to return to normal within 72 hours.. Technicians on site reported that repairs were carried out on Rua Félix Ferreira, in relation to one of the main pipelines in the North Zone, responsible for supplying several areas.
Affected neighborhoods include Abolição, Bonsucesso, Brás de Pina, parts of Centro, Complexo da Maré, Del Castilho, Encantado, Higienópolis, Inhaúma, Jacarezinho, Olaria, parts of Manguinhos, Maria da Graça, Penha, Penha Circular, Piedade, Pilares, Ramos , São Cristóvão and Vista Alegre.
The improvements in Higienópolis were triggered by previous improvements in Rua Barros Barreto, in Bonsucesso.
