Amid the heated political climate in the United States, Vice Presidential candidates Tim Walz and J.D. Vance put on a surprisingly objective television duel. Their first, and perhaps only, televised debate of this election campaign stood out for the depth of its content: topics such as illegal immigration, the right to abortion, and the climate crisis were discussed extensively. But the exchange of blows during the storming of the Capitol by Donald Trump’s supporters on January 6, 2021, also clearly demonstrated the deep divisions between the two political camps.
