According to witness reports, ballots were thrown from a building as delegates passed by. Seen in the footage, although not sure that the paper was money, voters immediately started fighting over it. Then, those present took pictures with the notes.
According to the CN7 website, the Federal Police (PF) was called in to investigate the truth of the facts.and clarify whether there were any illegal acts in the campaign. In this way, the origin of the ballots and the circumstances under which they were given to the public must be investigated.
The mayor’s office stated to the Metropoles portal that the banknotes were thrown by a local businessman and he had nothing to do with the campaign. Watch the full recording.
