Video: Deputy Glauber Braga detained by PM during event in Uerj
Federal Deputy Glauber Braga (PSol-RJ) was arrested this Friday afternoon (20) while protesting at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (Uerj). The parliamentarian was taken by the Military Police Shock Troops and placed inside an armored personnel carrier.
Glauber participated in several actions to maintain his mandate. He was the target of an impeachment request in the Council’s Ethics Committee after expelling a protester from the Movimento Brasil Livre (MBL) from the institution’s headquarters in Brasília.
According to preliminary information, Glauber was at a student job in Uerj when police arrived. There was a repossession order in effect. When contacted, the congressman’s office confirmed the arrest and said police did not say where the congressman was being taken.
But later it was discovered that his deputy was taken to the police station. PM Rio has not commented on the case.
