The rain came one day after the hottest day of the year recorded so far. The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) verified on Friday (27/9) that the maximum temperature reached 36.5 degrees Celsius at the Águas Amendmentadas meteorological station. Previously, the record was 35.4 degrees Celsius, and was recorded on September 23.
More scattered rain is also expected this Sunday (9/29).
2024 was the second driest year in history with the largest drought in the Federal District. According to the classification issued by Inmet, the worst year was 1963, when Brasilia went 163 consecutive days without rain.
