A man in West Pará was bitten by an anaconda in the river, claiming the action was an attempt to protect children from a possible attack. The incident occurred on Sunday (29) and attracted the attention of local authorities.
A video clip showing the episode also spread on social media. The Terra Santa Health Department confirmed that the man refused to receive medical care after the accident. Information from G1 portal.
According to witness information, the man was under the influence of alcohol and entered the river after noticing the presence of an anaconda. He jumped into the river for fear that the snake would attack the children playing there. The boy, who suffered a serious injury to his arm after the copper entanglement, refused medical attention. A few minutes later, the snake was removed from the boy’s arm. No news was published about the victim’s condition after the attack.
The snake is considered one of the largest snakes in the world, as it can exceed eight meters in length and weigh more than 200 kilograms. The sururi is not venomous and uses force to catch its prey.
