The horse, found with broken legs on the shore of DF-290, was rescued but had to be euthanized hours later due to its injuries.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Forestry (Seagri), teams arrived at the scene to rescue the horse after receiving reports that the animal had two broken front legs.

Firefighters were called and used the appropriate equipment to carry out the rescue.
“Unfortunately when taken to the Veterinary Hospital (Hvet) the horse had an open fracture and after assessment the decision to euthanize was necessary for the welfare of the animal,” Seagri said in a statement.
