Sao Paulo —Two people are still missing after a boat with seven people on board sank in the area known as Garganta do Diapo, in São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo on Sunday evening (9/29).
Five of the seven people on board were rescued.
The Fire Department allocated at least three vehicles to respond to the accident, which was carried out by residents of Burchat Island. The Brazilian Navy (MB) also sent a ship.
G1 reports that three women and two men were rescued in the first hours of the accident. Four of them were transported by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) to the central emergency room of São Vicente. The fifth person refused medical care.
Teams from the Sao Vicente Rescue Fire Station resumed the search for the two women who are still missing on Monday morning (9/30). According to Estadão, they were separated from the group at the time of the sinking and it is not known if they were wearing life jackets.
