Viasat Explore Classic can be found on Rakuten TV in the documentary channel category. The station broadcast in English, but the electronic program guide (EPG) and program announcements were available in Polish. The channel’s programming included series “Gem Diggers: Australia”, “Engineers’ Biggest Mistakes”, “Rabbles from the Canadian Wilderness”, “Such a Carp!” and “The Lumberjacks of British Columbia”.
Polsat Viasat Explore’s offer includes, for example, the programs “What a Carp!”, “Australian Gold Diggers”, “Australian Lobster Fishermen”, “Australian Cattle Hunters”, “A Truck Through the Australian Desert”, “The Biggest Construction Disasters”, “War Factories”, “Ice Vikings”, “The Great Fishing Adventure”, “Marble Miners”, “Naked, Alone and Far From Home…”, “The Dead Man’s Curse”. The pay channel’s programming offering is therefore broader than that of the FAST Viasat Explore Classic station.
– Viasat World will launch its new FAST channel, Viasat Explore Classic, in Poland on September 17, together with Rakuten TV. The fully localized, free and ad-supported streaming channel complements the existing Polsat Viasat Explore pay channel by offering factual entertainment. It will provide viewers with a diverse offering, featuring a curated collection of classic content from an extensive catalogue. Cyfrowy Polsat will continue cooperation
The Viasat World portfolio in Poland includes the following channels: Polsat Viasat Explore, Polsat Viasat History, Polsat Viasat Nature, Epic Drama (historical and fantasy series) and, from June, also Viasat True Crime. The word Polsat was introduced into the names of three documentary channels at the beginning of March 2013. The recently launched crime-themed channel operates in cooperation with Canal+ Polska.
Will Polsat Plus Group continue cooperation with Viasat World? – Nothing changes in our cooperation with Viasat World. Polsat Box subscribers and Polsat Box Go users have access to 4 channels – Polsat Viasat Explore, Polsat Viasat History, Polsat Viasat Nature and Epic Drama. Cyfrowy Polsat also provides technical services for these channels and ensures their availability via satellite. Polsat Media supports Viasat World channels in the sale of advertising time – Olga Zomer, spokeswoman for Cyfrowy Polsat, told Wirtualnemedia.pl. Rakuten TV already offers another well-known channel available on the Polsat Box. This is Travel xp in English audio. On the Polsat Box you can watch Travelxp 4K in Polish.
Viasat shares its roots with Viaplay. Viasat World stations were launched by Modern Times Group (MTG). In 2016, MTG World became Viasat World to emphasize its role as an independent content provider. Viaplay’s owner, Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group), was founded in 2019 as a spin-off from MTG. The brand is more reflective of the streaming era than Viasat, which is associated with satellite television. In 2020, the names of the Scandinavian channels associated with NENT Group changed. Viasat Sport stations replaced V Sport. Almost two years ago, NENT Group changed its name to Viaplay Group.
