Pia Skrzyszowska failed to advance to the 100m hurdles final at the Paris Olympics. Polish athlete and world record holder Tobi Amusan of Nigeria achieved a joint ninth result (12.55 s) in the semi-finals, which was the first result that did not allow progression.
Hurdler Pia Skrzyszowska finished her Olympic starts in the semi-finals. The Pole, who had run a superb time of 12.37 just weeks before the Olympics, ran a little slower in Paris.
Tobi Amusan crossed the line in the semi-final series in third, equaling the world record holder. Skrzyszowska and the Nigerian managed a time of 12.55, equal to the thousandth. Both had to wait for the results of the next races.
In the second, the third runner was slower than the African and our competitor, but in the third, Jamaica Nugent (12.44) and the home favorite, Samba-Mayela (12.52), ran faster. This meant that The Pole did not advance to the final.
It was very close. Well, it didn’t work. I tried my best, but it wasn’t enough. – said Skrzyszowska.
