Unboxed retail copy of Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold compared to the original Pixel Fold

While the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold hasn’t gone on sale yet, one lucky person has already gotten their hands on the colorful Obsidian smartphone, which they fortunately unboxed on Reddit and showed off to the world.

The crease out of the box seems to be a significant improvement over the original Pixel Fold, while still being very present. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold also ships unfolded in the box, unlike its predecessor, which came folded.

Speaking of which, the same Reddit user also posted an extensive photoshoot comparing Google’s new foldable smartphone to Google’s old foldable smartphone, side by side. The new device’s different aspect ratio is very obvious, as is its larger size.

This change also makes the Pixel 9 Pro Fold look more like a typical foldable smartphone and less unique than its predecessor. But that should have a positive side, as apps have fewer problems on the foldable screen.
