Since the beginning of the war unleashed by Russia on our eastern border, many Ukrainians with diverse skills and experience in the labour market have arrived in Poland. Many of them decide to run their businesses on the Vistula River. In 2023 alone, the number of individual companies registered in Poland by Ukrainian citizens increased by more than two-thirds compared to the previous year – to 299.3 thousand. One in ten companies established was Ukrainian, according to data from the Central Business Registration and Information Center.
More and more franchisees from Ukraine join the Żabka network
Ukrainians – and especially Ukrainian women – are also eager to use the franchise model. Żabka has just published the latest data on this subject. As announced in the press release, almost 500 entrepreneurs from Ukraine already run stores in Poland under the chain’s banner, the majority of whom are women.
– We expect the number of Ukrainian franchisees in Żabka to continue to grow, and the network is ready to welcome more ambitious and enterprising people, offering them the support and tools they need to achieve success in the Polish market. Żabka proudly supports entrepreneurs from all over the world, creating a space for them to realize their dreams and professional aspirations – emphasized Przemysław Kijewski, Chief Operating Officer of Żabka Polska, as quoted in the press release.
The chain admitted that for many Ukrainians the specific nature of the Polish market may be new, so the proven franchise model may be a good solution for them and may influence their decision to choose a form of business.
