A child was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Frelenberg on Monday afternoon, police reported. The nine-year-old was playing ball on Geilenkirchener Strasse at around 16:40. When the ball rolled onto the road, the girl suddenly ran after it, according to witness statements. A 48-year-old woman from Übach-Palenberg, who was driving along Geilenkirchener Straße from Palenberg to Geilenkirchen, braked but was unable to prevent the collision.
Rockfabrik becomes two separate clubs
The car hit the nine-year-old child. “The child was thrown onto the road and injured himself so badly that he had to be taken to hospital,” police said. The driver was in shock and also had to receive medical treatment at the scene.
