Majorca came in second and Crete third. The other destinations in the top ten are Kos, Hurghada, Fuerteventura, Rhodes, Faro in Portugal, Gran Canaria and Marsa Alam in Egypt. TUI says both Egyptian destinations in particular are seeing strong growth rates.
Among distant countries, the United States remains the most popular travel destination, followed by the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, the Maldives and Mauritius.
When it comes to car travel, Germany leads the way, followed by Austria, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic.
