The Knot of the File. A slightly different kind of sequel story (Part 8). Today’s Summer Series: How Conditions Explode…

What’s happened so far: Dr. Schrunz, a lawyer, has eliminated his mother with the help of the Triads. But the three criminal brothers have kidnapped his only client, Röder, in order to find a mysterious knot that will lead to a treasure of inestimable value. But Schroppmann, the transgender member of the BKA, is already on the trail of the Triads, sometimes in the guise of Irmina Hornbach. Meanwhile, Heinz Müller, the real-life sandbox playmate of the top three, visits Rudi Röder’s father, who runs a gardening business, and subdues the senior Knotweed with a cross to the heart, but is threatened by Schrunz with a Komodo dragon. But help is already on the way…

Commissioner Balthasar B. Schroppmann swore and panted as he drove his Ford Transit along the country road, the prehistoric springs groaning and the crisp Bionade box rattling on the passenger seat. In the rearview mirror hung a picture of his mother and victim, Theodora Schrunz, surnamed Buntschuh! – from the great, if unrequited, love of the lawyer Dr. Schrunz and his Inspector Balthasar Schroppmann.

Stopping the evil Schruntz was a top priority and also his skill. Without modern navigation devices, his instincts told him that it was not too far to the garden center. And the nursery, in addition to his instincts, was the place where all the threads met. All the threads. And all the nodes.

On a long straight road, he stepped on the accelerator and heard the asthmatic engine roar, like something he had recorded on a VHS tape he enjoyed watching as a child. <엽기신부와 푸른 콩>Ina <그들이 말하는 위치라 불렀던 남자> In the same film, the escape vehicle, which was already moving very fast, suddenly went into trouble and started driving faster, and then faster. Even the very young Schropman, who had no water at all, wondered where the vehicle in question got this unexpected amount of water.

Put your hands on the rosary

Of course, such philosophical sophistry was not given to the transit built in the Bohemian village in 1976, and was technically impossible, Schroppmann thought glumly when two pensioners caught up with him on electric bikes. Foot on the accelerator, one hand on the steering wheel, the other on the rosary that the great Jesuit knot-puller had once given him as a protective amulet against “all kinds of adversity” and as a token of gratitude. After an indescribable service, Schroppmann muttered a prayer to himself, wondering if he was too late, and almost missed the entrance to the Röder Orphanage…

Meanwhile, Irmina Hornbach was enthusiastically summarizing what she had learned about the Komodo dragon in the KGB. During the breeding season, she fervently remembered that the featherless skin on the neck and face was often brightly colored, usually red or orange. If there was a crest or hood, it would be much longer if the animal was ready to mate. Often the overall plumage color would become brighter and more intense. Here Irmina finally stopped practicing her memory, because despite her best will in the world, what she remembered could not be reconciled with the drooling, black-tailed beast that was now coming toward her.

Schruntz, who did not notice his own confused thoughts, laughed: “You fool, you have confused a Komodo dragon with a cormorant! Get him, Korbinian!”

Twilight with the Dragon

With horror and fatal delay, Irmina realized her mistake, the precariousness of the whole situation, and the insignificant detail that the fat angle lawyer had laughed and untied the leash. When she locked eyes with Nam Hae-yong, who was not at all ready to mate and clearly willing to jump in, she also realized that she Summa summarum and sub speciae aeternitatis may have reached the end of the electrical pole.

I could already see my past life flashing through my mind’s eye like a Netflix series, but then suddenly the words “Gas, water, and fertilizer all in one go” flashed across the screen, and I ended up watching only the third episode of the first season. A Netflix plumber’s commercial? Irmina thought. As Korbinian, the mortally wounded Komodo dragon, flew through the air like a cormorant, Irmina thought. An old Ford Transit was pumping steam into the orphanage’s frog pond, stirring the clotted water. Ugh. It was close.

The driver’s door opened and rolled out. Inspector Baltasar B. Schropman! Irmina froze. That can’t be right. And Schruntz also registered a legitimate protest: “That can’t be right!”, he shouted. “Schropman and Irmina are the same person!” What is happening here? This is definitely not right!

Schropman and Irmina exchanged a meaningful glance. Then they both grabbed their chins and yanked the latex masks off their faces…
