Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has canceled his participation in a special election program broadcast by the American network CBS. Trump’s campaign team has withdrawn its commitment to do the interview, “60 Minutes” on X announced. However, Trump’s spokesman, Stephen Cheung, wrote that there were discussions but no agreement was reached. The station also insisted on direct verification of the facts, which is “unprecedented.”

According to CBS, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris will appear on Monday’s broadcast as planned. The call for Trump remains.

“60 Minutes” is one of the most successful programs on American television and says it has been calling presidential candidates for more than 50 years. Harris and Trump are competing against each other in the presidential elections scheduled for November 5.

Harris and Trump traded heated blows on Sept. 10 in a televised duel hosted by ABC — with the Democrat often backing the Republican into a corner. Harris then called for a second duel, but Trump announced that he did not want to participate in any further debates.
