A train loaded with tons of corn derailed this Monday afternoon in the city of Jiménez. As is common in this city, looters immediately began seizing the product. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The incident was recorded on the Jiménez-Escalón line, near the San Francisco dam, when a train carrying several tons of corn for reasons unknown until now derailed, spilling the cargo several meters around the place where the large wagons overturned.

Shortly afterward, some Jiménez residents attempted to illegally seize the products, and managed to get in front of the authorities, although with the arrival of elements of the National Guard and the State Police, they managed to prevent further looting.

Until now, there has been no official information regarding the cause of the accident, because it has been 2 years since a similar incident occurred, a train loaded with corn seeds also derailed on the track.

Based on initial data from Ferromex workers, losses reached millions due to the destruction of all carriages and loss of products, it was confirmed that there were no fatalities.
