On Wednesday, at the PGE National Stadium, the Champions League winners Real Madrid will face the Europa League winners Atalanta Bergamo in the fight for the UEFA Super Cup. The match will kick off in the evening at 9pm, but changes will be introduced to road traffic and public transport in the morning.
“On the day of the match, fans from Spain and Italy will gather in special zones, from where they will go to the stadium. Real Madrid fans will meet on Francuska Street, and Atalanta Bergamo fans will meet on the boulevards of the Vistula River, near the Świętokrzyski Bridge. From 8 am to midnight, Francuska Street will be closed from the Washington roundabout to the intersection with Zwycięzców. Buses No. 117, 138, 146 and 147 will make detours via Washington, Saska and Zwycięzców streets,” the Public Transport Authority said.
At the same time, on the streets: Lipska from Aleja WAWA to Francuska and from Finlandzka to Francuska; Berezyńska from Aleja Washington to Francuska and from Gruzińska to Francuska; Gruzińska from Czeska to Berezyńska – there will be two-way traffic and a stopping ban.
From 10:00 a.m. the so-called traffic and parking will be closed. old Sokola, between Wybrzeże Szczecińskie and Zamość street. The traffic ban signage will not apply to public transport buses. The remaining drivers will return here on Thursday at 4 pm. At the same time, a stopping ban will also be enforced in Kijowska from Targowa to Dworzec Wschodni.
“Fans attending the National Stadium should remember that the match will take place on the eve of Polish Army Day. On this occasion, a parade will be organized on Wisłostrada. On Wednesday, August 14, at 6:00 p.m., the artery that runs along the Vistula will be closed from the Skłodowska-Curie Bridge to Gagarina Street. Traffic will resume here only on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.,” the capital’s mayor’s office said.
In addition, on Wednesday, from 3 pm, traffic in Saska Kępa will be limited. Until 9:50 p.m., drivers will not enter the area between Aleja Poniatowskiego, Aleja Washington, ul Społeczna, Aleja Naszeny and ul. The bans will not apply to vehicles of people with SK ID, taxis and two-wheelers. Public transport buses will also run there on fixed routes.
“On the way to the stadium, the best thing to do is take the metro, which runs every few minutes. The Szybka Kolej Miejska and Koleje Mazowieckie trains also stop near the stadium. Efficient access will also be ensured by trams running over the Poniatowski Bridge and by buses,” the city government appealed.
From 18:45 until the end of the match – in case of closure of Sokolej Street from Zamość to Wybrzeże Szczecińskie – buses No. 102 and 202 will run to the terminal Dw. Wybrzeże Szczecińskie and Zamość Street (only in the direction of the Metro National Stadium).
In case of closure of Zamoyskiego, Zamość and Sokola streets, detour routes will be introduced for routes 102, 135, 146, 147 and 202 and E-1. Buses No. 102 and 202 will go to Dwschodni (Lubelska) terminus and 135 Targowa to their regular route. Buses No. 146 and 147 and E-1 will run only to Washington roundabout.
After the departure, additional bus routes 138 and 509 will be launched from the Washington roundabout towards Bokserska, Gocław and Winnica. There will also be more trams. Additional metro trains will run towards Bemowo. Additional tram routes 9 and 26 will be on the “Nine” route on the Gocławek – Ratuszowa ZOO route and 26 on the Al. Zieleniecka – Metro Młociny route.
After the end of the match, approx. 22:45, if the Poniatowski Bridge and Aleje Jerozolimskie between the de Gaulle Roundabout and the Washington Roundabout are closed to traffic (this decision is made by the police), trams and buses will be diverted to bypass routes.

Trains on lines 7 and 9 from the city center will arrive at Starynkiewicza Square; on the Prague side, the “seven” will go to the Wiatraczna roundabout and the “nine” to the Ratuszowa ZOO. Trams on line 22 on the left bank of the Vistula will go from Banach to Starynkiewicza Square, while on the other side of the river they will make a loop to and from the Wiatraczna roundabout.
A replacement bus line Z-9 will be launched on the route: pl. Zawiszy, Al. Jerozolimskie, Nowy Świat, pl. Trzech Krzyży, Al. Ujazdowskie, Trasa Łazienkowska, Wał Miedzeszyński, Zwycięzców, Saska, al. Washington, Wiatraczna. Bus lines: 111, 117, 158, 162, 166, 507, 521, N22, N24, N72 will bypass the closed part of the routes via the Łazienkowski Bridge.
Holders of tickets, invitation tickets, UEFA-issued accreditations and UEFA-issued volunteer accreditations are entitled to free travel in ticket zone 1 on public transport vehicles (trams, buses, metro, SKM trains), Koleje Mazowieckie and Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa trains on specific dates:
- UEFA accreditation holders until 15 August at 9:00,
- ticket holders, invitation tickets from August 14th, 6:00 am to August 15th, 9:00 am,
- UEFA volunteers from 14 August, 06:00 to 15 August, 23:59.
During the same time, fans will be able to use the P+R parking lots free of charge.
