New Delhi:
After a long break of nine years, Adnan Sami makes a big comeback to playback singing. He is said to be lending his voice to songs in not one but two films: Kasoor and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. Adnan’s last song was Bhar Do Jholi Meri from To Bajrangi Bhaija. Recently, Adnan revealed that he was taking time off to “recover, rejuvenate and be receptive” before his return. “It wasn’t a calculated move, it was something that happened. I primarily needed some time to myself to recover, refresh and be receptive while listening to something new that’s come my way. You don’t actually realize it’s been such a gap because time flies It seems like it was only yesterday To Bajrangi Bhaija happened and I sang Bhar Do Jholi. When you look back, you feel like it’s been a long time. I am excited about the new song,” he told Hindustan Times.
Adnan Sami added that he is happy to get back to the recording stage. He said: “I’m touring a lot at the moment with concerts around the world. But I’m happy to get back into the recording phase and do a lot of new things and record films and independent music, which has been a very important part of my life.
During the same conversation, Adnan Sami opened up about how his approach to music is “emotional.” The singer said: “I’ve been in the business for 35 years now, and my discography and work is hugely diverse… But you might not find the amount you’d expect after 35 years. The reason is that my approach to music is emotional. I don’t like business. It’s a passion for me.”
Last month, Adnan Sami turned 53. He hosted a bash attended by Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Shankar Mahadeva and other industry colleagues. Click here to read more about it.
