Thyssenkrupp cuts hundreds of jobs in Bremen

Thyssenkrupp is cutting 421 jobs in Bremen. Production at the site will be gradually reduced by 2026, the company announced after a supervisory board meeting. Currently around 530 employees will be informed during the day.

Thyssenkrupp is building a production line for the automotive industry in Bremen. The powertrain business will be closed in 2026. Instead, the group said it wants to focus on areas related to the assembly and testing of drivetrain components and batteries as well as on its service business and international product portfolio.

According to the company, 172 full-time positions remain in the division in Germany, 113 of which are in Bremen. Thyssenkrupp announced that it will negotiate a socially acceptable solution for the affected employees with the works council and the trade unions. It should also be checked whether the employees can find other jobs within the group.
