The passenger of the Ford Ranger who fell from a bridge on a stretch of BR 423, in Canapi, in the interior of Alagoas, was heading to the town of Águas Belas, in Pernambuco, to visit family. The family currently lives in São Paulo.
At the crash site, three people were confirmed dead. A woman in her 30s later died at a local hospital. Only the child, just two years old, remains in hospital. Conditions are generally considered stable.
The victims were identified as 60-year-old Damião Izidio da Silva Santos, Benedita Ferreira, and the couple was identified only as Ridalvo and Kedina, the parents of son Pedro, who was only 2 years old. Apart from the trauma caused by the collision, the victims were also attacked by bees.
The Federal Highway Police classified the crash as lane departure. The body was taken to IML in Arapiraca and had to be sent to the victim’s hometown.
