New Delhi:
Stree 2 has raked in a huge amount of money at the box office since its Independence Day release. Although the film has a cast, Shraddha Kapoor emerged as one of the most sought-after celebrities after the release of the film. Recently, Shraddha Kapoor beat Priyanka Chopra to become the second most followed Indian celebrity on Instagram. When asked about the credit war for the film’s success, Aparshakti Khurana tried to dodge the question in an interview with Zoom. Aparshakti, who portrayed her role as Bittu in the film, said, “Main ispe Kuch bolunga, Baat khulegi toh door tak jaayegi, main Kuch bolna Nahin chahunga, audience jo kahe wo sahi hai (If I comment on this, it will go a long way. I don’t want to comment on what the audience says.)
While Stree 2 boasts of a stellar cast that contributes to the film’s stellar performance, a section of the internet credited Shraddha Kapoor more for the film’s success than others. When asked to comment on the matter, Aparshakti said, “Look this is a PR game. If a channel goes and asks the audience, I apologize to the original audience, what do they say? I want to know that. So this is a PR game. A game, I don’t want to comment on it. I love every actor in my film. I’m a bit uncomfortably attached to them now.”
“It shouldn’t have happened now, when everyone is in a happy mood and celebrating the film. Between all these things, when this happens, you also have to take sides, but I don’t want to do that. They are all as close to me, and I respect their journeys to have any kind of talent that can help that journey, I wouldn’t say PR is my strongest point,” said Aparshakti Khurana.
Meanwhile, Stree 2’s box office is not stopping. On Day 10, the horror comedy minted ₹32.5 crore at the box office, reported Sacnilk. With this, the film’s total collection now stands at ₹ 341.65 crore. The film stars Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee. Street was released in 2018.
