Mexico City.- The feud between two factions of the Sinaloa Cartel is escalating violence in other countries where they share territory, especially on the northern border, security experts warn.
With this, the truce established by both parties, led by “Los Chapitos” (son of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán) and Ismael “El Mayo Flaco” Zambada (son of “El Mayo” Zambada), was broken in the territory where they operated mainly to transport synthetic drugs to the United States.
Yesterday, 11 bodies were found in the border town of Ojinaga, Chihuahua. The state attorney general, César Jáuregui Moreno, ruled out the incident as being related to the dispute between the two factions. On Thursday, violence escalated in the country, leaving 99 people killed in different states. Baja California, the main entity of drug trafficking, was hit by 15 murders.
12 days ago a period of violence began in Sinaloa, a “war” that caused 61 murders in the entity, that is, an average of 5 murders per day.
“In countries where violence is increasing, there is a presence of both factions, which indicates that the truce between the two factions of the Sinaloa Cartel is over,” warned David Saucedo, a security specialist.
