A joint operation led by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) resulted in the arrest of 18 people and the recovery of 27 stolen vehicles this week in El Paso, the agency reported.

The operation, which took place from September 17 to 20, was conducted in cooperation with the El Paso Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. Among the detainees are four minors of criminal age.

The operation has been described as a successful effort in combating vehicle theft in the area, and authorities continue to investigate other possible links with criminal networks dedicated to smuggling stolen vehicles.
