Google’s Pixel 9 series smartphones, announced last month, have been equipped with new features exclusive to the series. These include Auto Frame and Reimagine, which could make their way to older Pixel smartphones.
Android Power and user X FoldDebug found evidence in the Google Photos app that suggests Google could be bringing Auto Frame and Reimagine to older Pixel models. The publication says there are three variants of the Google Photos app with different configurations: one for all non-Pixel Android devices, one for Pixel models launched between 2021 and 2023, and one for Pixel models launched in 2024.

The Google Photos app for Pixel models 2024, the Pixel 9 series, includes code strings related to the Auto Frame and Reimagine features. These code strings can also be found in the Google Photos app (version 6.99) for Pixel models launched between 2021 and 2023, suggesting that Google may bring these two features to older Pixel models launched between 2021 and 2023.
The publication notes that the standard version of the Google Photos app for non-Pixel devices does not include code strings for the Auto Frame and Reimagine features. This means that they either won’t appear on non-Pixel devices or will be exclusive to Pixel devices for some time.
