City of Juarez.- This week, Drinking Water crews from the Juárez Municipal Water and Sanitation Council (JMAS) continued work on replacing a valve at the intersection of De los Aztecas Avenue and Pavo Real Street.

Yesterday, Saturday, while the work was being carried out to replace an 8-inch valve that had reached the end of its service life, the work accidentally caused a leak because a specific part was in poor condition.

“When the initial leak was controlled, which is the second reason why the valve was replaced, the part gave in to the water pressure and deteriorated even further. There were three holes made in the particular part, but yesterday the leak was controlled,” said Brandon Ávila, JMAS Water District 1 coordinator.

In the morning and afternoon of this Sunday, the staff carried out repair work, and the connection was installed.

Tomorrow Monday the damaged part will be replaced because it has to be produced.

These works may result in low pressure or lack of drinking water service in the neighborhoods of Granjas de Chapultepec, Ladrilleros and Calero, Lomas de Morelos and Santa María.
